Course Description
Pulmonary function testing (PFT’s) is one of the most widely prescribed diagnostic tools used by physicians to determine general and specific lung function. PFT’s assist in evaluating chronic dyspnea, obstructive and/or restrictive pulmonary disease, and help determine whether additional testing is required. Additionally, these tests have been proven useful in determining specific response to treatments, and fitness for certain surgical procedures. Those tests discussed in this course are:
- Spirometry
- Lung Volumes
- Flow Volume Loops
This course is designed to assist the health care practitioner with a basic understanding of PFT.
