Healthcare is changing and along with it is the evolving role of the sleep technologist. The transition to patient-centric care has required a constant pressure to improve outcomes in the sleep lab to reduce costs and increase effectiveness of the patient experience. The future of the profession is in the role of as educators. This will require additional medical and sleep-specific knowledge. The Certification in Clinical Sleep Health is one way to address this transition.
The technologist with the CCSH credential fills a host of roles in the sleep medicine arena as sleep navigators in the hospital setting and assisting with patient care through patient education and therapy management.
This advanced level of practice requires payment for expertise and delivery of patient care. This presentation will address the transition to the CCHS and provide suggestions to address the revenue source for services.
