Bordered by Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, Wisconsin is third to Ontario and Michigan in the length of its Great Lakes coastline. Wisconsin is home to more than 15,000 lakes and over 60 state parks. Although it’s not known as a particularly mountainous state, the rolling hills, sprawling plains, and many lakes of Wisconsin are well worth a visit.
Wisconsin is one of the nation’s leading dairy producers and is known as “America’s Dairyland.” It is particularly famous for its cheese. Wisconsin is known for its many beers and breweries. The state is home to some of the most famous breweries including Miller, Pabst, and Schlitz. Wisconsin also is a center of German American and Scandinavian American culture, particularly in respect to its cuisine, with foods such as bratwurst and kringle. Wisconsin is home to the Green Bay Packers, the third-oldest franchise in the National Football League.
