This course addresses three general areas within disaster and emergency preparedness:
- The Disaster Plan – Preparing a health care organization and/or department for an eventual emergency or disaster; through addressing the following elements within an effective plan:
- Plan Implementation – The actual execution of an emergency preparedness plan, as evidenced by a discussion of a real or mock disaster-plan implementation.
- Plan evaluation – The evaluation of an organization’s response to a real or mock disaster/emergency situation, and the corrective measures to be taken after evaluation.
